Hopestead launches monthly newsletter to build community fighting homelessness

Hopestead's fundraising manager Chris Elliott said the newsletter was for everyone who wanted to help end homelessness.

Hopestead has launched a new monthly newsletter, inviting supporters to join a growing community of people who want to help end homelessness.

The newsletter will share real stories of people rebuilding their lives, updates on the charity's work, and practical ways supporters can get involved in tackling the housing crisis.

With 26,000 people experiencing homelessness across the East of England - including 12,000 children - Hopestead wants to build a movement of people committed to creating change.

Lucy Parish, Hopestead's director of operations, said: "Our newsletters will be more than just updates - we want to build a community. Every month, readers will hear stories from people whose lives have been transformed, learn about the projects we're funding through our Hope Funds programme, and discover how they can make a difference.

"The homelessness crisis is getting worse, not better. Right now, thousands of children are living in temporary accommodation with no proper space to study, play, or just be children. But we can change this if we work together. Every person who subscribes becomes part of a movement proving that homelessness isn't inevitable, and it’s something we can change.”

The first issue features Pippa's story - a mother who fled domestic abuse and spent seven months sofa surfing with her children before Hopestead helped furnish her new home.

Chris Elliott, Hopestead's fundraising manager, said: "We want people to feel connected to the work that we’re doing. And we want them to feel part of that work, whether that be by running a marathon for us, organising a corporate challenge, or just sharing our stories with friends.”
