Golfers took to the tees at Royal Norwich Golf Club in a drive to end homelessness in a golf day organised by Flagship Group’s service subsidiaries, Gasway and Flagship Services.
Around 100 people took part in a fundraiser for the charity Hopestead, raising over £9,300 to support Hopestead’s work – the highest total in the event’s history.
Marie-Claire Delbrouque, Hopestead CEO, said: “I’m really taken aback at just how much was raised this year – this means we can continue our work with local communities and do more for the people we support, and ultimately it helps us towards our goal of ending homelessness.”

The event kicked off with pre-competitions; putting, ‘longest drive’ and ‘nearest the pin’ challenges all gave attendees a chance to get warmed up before they embarked on the Royal Norwich’s picturesque greens for a full 18-hole round.
Money raised will go towards Hopestead initiatives such as Hope at Home, which provides furniture and other household essentials to people moving into new homes from a route of homelessness.
Ms Delbrouque said: “We are incredibly grateful to Flagship Services and Gasway for organising this wonderful event, to the Royal Norwich for hosting us, and of course to all our sponsors for coming along and raising money to help fund our work.”
Flagship Services’ director of logistics and capital works Neal Simmons said: “It may not be the PGA tour, but getting together with our friends, colleagues and sponsors to raise money for Hopestead is something we’re proud to do. “We had a great time, and it’s all worth it to contribute to the incredible work Hopestead does to tackle homelessness day in, day out.”
