We urge you to join us in signing the open letter from the charity @crisis_uk calling on political leaders to end homelessness within the next decade.

Hopestead strongly condemns the plans for the Criminal Justice Bill. and cannot support placing the burden of a failing system on the criminal system that is already at breaking point itself – the opportunity to end homelessness sits firmly with current and future politicians and they need to do far better than this.

This proposed bill not only overlooks the fundamental causes of homelessness but could also intensify the challenges faced by some of our community’s most vulnerable individuals. This approach, to think of punishing individuals for their sheer need to find a place to sleep on the streets, is morally wrong and misdirected.

Homelessness is a complex issue and can be influenced by a great many factors and the focus should instead be on providing essential support, resources, and housing solutions, rather than criminalising those in desperate situations.

We’re so appreciative of this donation by our friends in @Gasway, who recently held a raffle and donated all the money raised to support us - a phenomenal £850!

It’s something that will make a huge difference in our work helping people follow their route out of homelessness, and we’re truly grateful to Gasway for their generosity here.

Together, we can end homelessness.

Rachael, the community champion from Tesco Harford Bridge, came to visit the us yesterday and brought a range of items from the store to donate to our Hope at Home initiative 🙌.
Rachael wanted to learn more about the role Hopestead plays in helping to end homelessness, and how we can work more closely together. 🤝
Thanks Rachael! 🙏 @
